Richard Smith, (southern Ca.)
Richard has been part of my Smooth Jazz world line up, one way or another for many years, although not often enough. Richard has performed her on his own as well as with other players. Our lates encounter was a couple of years ago when he toured with Sicilian guitarist Francesco Buzzurro.
A perfect setting for their music, in the cozy basement of the Whitmore Mansion. Great music, Great wine and a more than enthusiastic audience. Hopefully, Richard and Francisco will be back in Modesto during 2015.

Francesco Buzzurro (Sicily)
My first encounter with Francesco took place several years ago when He, along with Richard Smith, were performing at Merced College. At Richard’s recommendation, I attended and was amazed what two totally different styles of guitar playing could do when they came together. The house was packed and I was thrilled.
When several years later I was offered a date to have them in Modesto, I immediately snapped it up. It was truly an amazing show tucked in the basement of the Whitmore Mansion in Ceres...Meet Franchesco ‘Buzzuro:

Fabiana Passoni (Brazil)
I had since seen her twice down at the Catalina and knew I had to bring her to Modesto...and so it was to be as part of our Global Music Live Series in the Summer of 2011….She will return in December as a trio called As Tres Minenas (The Three Girls) featuring Stephanie Ozer on Piano and Ami Molinelli Hart on percussion. jg
My first encounter with Fabiana’s music came in the way of the internet,. She was new and her music from her first CD E Minha Vez grabbed me and my full attention. I had then written to her about her music and somehow we became fast friends. First face to face was at the Catalina Jazz club in Hollywood. Honestly, I have never been a groupie, but I was hooked on this new Brazilian music.
